So I have a confession! It just dawned on me in the last few months actually and this weekend I finally admitted to myself. I’m a nerd. Like a first class grade A, full course meal nerd. Not N.E.R.D Pharell nerd though. I’ve grown a sincere interest in some things that I’ve come across in the past little while that are so random but fun!
Now I’ve always been into astrology, zodiac signs n such, but recently it’s grown into astronomy, moons, planets, stars, galaxies! A little while after that phase it was all that Illuminati, conspiracies, masonry nonsense. Further on from that I had a lil Morse Code stint where I just wanted to send hidden messages to people via bbm (ultra dweebish right there).
Just recently though I was put on to another form of hidden communications that was used during the 1500’s called “Symbolon” I cant even really explain it to you right now cause its something you gotta see. But what intrigued me so much about this archaic form of communication is that people really sat down, and put this s*** together, crossed reference symbols with numbers, and hid messages. A lot of work was put into communications back in the days and honestly we’re become so lazy. Remember the days people used to write letters. YES …we used to WRITE things down…like on PAPER..with a PINCIL, and if we wanted to get real fancy we’de use a PEN…sometimes red, sometimes blue and even black depending on the day or who we were addressing.
I’m at fault as well, I couldn’t tell you the last time I wrote someone a letter. But I do still have a box from high school that I kept with all my lil notes and letters I had received from a boyfriend, to a friend, to threats. Its nice to look back on things like that. I wont ever really throw those out. Fancy I still have yours from when I was having that bad week back in like grade 11 and my dad was sick. Awwww.
Another thing ppl don’t do much of (not everyone) but some. Is look through pictures. With things like Facebook and My Space taking over the world all we do is post pictures. No one prints things out. LMAO everything is digital. My mom still has one of those cameras that you have to put film in and wind up. I forgot how to use it when we went to Jamaica last summer. She just recently bought a digital cam and has no clue how it functions but I appreciate her attempt to stay up to the times. I had a chance to sit with my punkin and look through his baby pictures n toddler pictures, I think some of the last pictures he had in there might have been early high school.
So I challenge everyone to write a letter to someone. Or even leave a note for someone, hand written (if we remember how to hold a pen anymore) and see what you come up with. No emails, no pin, no text, no posts. Pen and paper, and you can even go the extra mile and mail it, with a stamp and envelop. Also try printing out some pictures, that way when the technological world crashes before our eyes, we can still enjoy the memories we made. Tah-daaah!! Real Life memories
